I thought Chris Kyle was well portrayed, for a movie. Revealing details about sniper training would be an OPSEC violation at best, and probably boring to average movie goers at worst. Wearing patches and having technical dialog (breecher) where it isn't done is just cuz the average joe, who doesn't serve, can better understand what's going on. Maybe too much drama, but I think the point of American Sniper, to a great director like Clint Eastwood (who served), was to show the cost of war on the troops, even the toughest of them.
