That's great. My doggo was in the backseat with me the whole time! Love travelling with the guy.
Oh yes, the Nanticoke is a big one, that sounds like a mess. We weren't here in 2006, but last year when the Indian River came out of it's banks, our little neighborhood pond took over the whole neighborhood! Was like living in Venice! Sad about the fish.
The Nanticoke is the one that I have to worry about, Pat. That flood in 2006 left me on an island. I wasn't even aware we were going to have rain, much less 17" of it overnight. I had just come home from disaster relief trip in MI. Drove in late, hit the rack, and never looked at the weather. Bit of a surprise next morning. Picked up dead fish days later that had become trapped and then left high and dry in my fields after the pond overflowed. Didn't have any issues with the house, but sure hated losing the fish. There are no bass left in my pond now and I just don't bother getting anymore to catch and release into it.
Or in our case, if the Indian River don't rise :) Your adventures sound like great fun Susan, many wonderful memories for you I'm sure!
