Well said +1
I was raised with a few key things drilled into my head. One of those was that a mans word is his bond. My father was the epitome of that and always said it’s one of the most valuable things a man has, along with his honesty, and it can never be taken from him it can only be pissed away by choice. If a man gives his word he doesn’t back out of it no matter what. I’ve met too many people in life that toss around hollow promises like its candy on Halloween. It really disgusts me.
“All 90 rescinded their offers”. NFW. But, I’m not surprised. “Patriotism” to those who talk the loudest is just a fashion statement. Wearing a T-shirt and empty words are all they are good for.
Loved Idaho. Came down for the eclipse. Toured EBR-1, Craters on the Moon, hung out with US Military outside of Mountain Home, and drove back up through the Rockies to Alberta. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/127e5e4d12836f620f5965e243fb7270e9d6f2dd98df4e625016b3caeca27b09.jpg
The fact that the offer was made and then rescinded when it was actually needed by a Gold Star Widow at such a vulnerable and desperate time is horrible. If it was a corporation that likes to play up the veteran angle for business, it would be nice to know who it was.
