SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) teams operate a fleet of mini-subs used by the SEALs for covert underwater operations. SEAL Delivery Vehicle Teams are known to operate the Mk VIII Mod 1 SDV, a black, electrically operated mini-sub that can carry six SEALs on clandestine operations. The mini-sub excels at:
- Underwater insertion/extraction of SEALs
- Placing magnetic limpet mines or other explosives to berthed ships
- Underwater reconnaissance
- Clandestine approach for maritime counterterrorism

When I see the SEALs and then read an article like the following. Unbelievable. Is this what our military has been reduced to? “(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don’t get hurt feelings. Reason? “The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don’t have a patch.” Read the full article at DailySurge
Yeowwwww totally awesome. When you see them coming out of the water it's like you can feel the "wet".
Cool video. I am curious as to how different the day to day life is between a SEAL in the SDV teams is as compared to someone assigned to one of the traditional teams. How much more time do the SDV operators spend doing under water operations and diving vs land nav, patrolling, direct action etc... or vice versa. For instance, is a SEAL team required to do X number of hours diving, jumping, patrolling etc...per month? Or is is more a mater of training up for the specific geographic area they're responsible for? Keep up the good work Nick.
Has a SEAL ever been killed by a shark while on a mission? This is a serious question lol
