Apologies for two in a row........ Part of the problem is that we do not honor the sacrifices of those who stood, not on the battlefield with bullets flying but rather those who were lynched by the liberal press and yet who stood and took the flack rather than compromise the nation. One of those was J Edgar Hoover. The left loves to portray him as one of those obsessed with the illusion of a communist menace, hater of Jews who sent the Rosenbergs to die with fabricated evidence and who saw a communist under every bed in Hollywood. We had broken the Soviet codes at the end of WWII. As we began to decipher the texts and identify the parties it became evident that Soviet penetration of the US government and our nuclear program far worse than even the strongest alarmists asserted. The penetration of the atomic labs was such that Stalin knew more about our program than did Roosevelt and then Truman. Alger Hiss who was given credit as the architect of the United Nations was a communist agent as were many others. In Brittan the Russians were even more successful, not in recruiting communist agents from the working class but in having them identified and recruited by professors at Cambridge. The defections of Burgess, McClean and Philby to the USSR and Philby's book My Secret War gave a rare glimpse of the extend of Soviet penetration. Hoover went to his grave hounded by the NYT , liberals and virtually every college history department in the nation for his pursuit of communists. It was an " accepted truth" on college campuses that the Rosenbergs were victims of an anti semitic right wing. Yet well after Hoover's death a prominent historian documenting the persecution of the Rosenbergs and Greenglass came to the remarkable conclusion that the evidence supporting their guilt was simply overwhelming. But there were never apologies to Hoover's family. Relevant to today in that Hoover kept the secrets and bore the heat and the attacks for the benefit of the nation. Sadly this is a lesson not taught in school apologies for the length
Volcomhcky69 Just because you are (self proclaimed ) paranoid doesn't mean you are wrong. Both Obama and Hillary are obsessed with managing the press. For those unfamiliar with her work Sheryl Attkinson used to be a top CBS investigative reporter when her stories concerned corporate misdeeds. However when she looked into Fast and Furious, Benghazi and other issues she not only had her computer attacked by and tracked but also was terminated (might have to do with the fact that the head of CBS news is the brother of a high level Obama white house staff member) Atkinson's book Stonewalled is a must read.
I would look at the story in a larger perspective............... the natives( working Americans) are getting restless - they are beginning to understand the breadth of the ISIS and related group's success from Africa to the Chinese border and the trouble it portends for America, they are squeezed between the banksters and wall streeters who have looted the nations wealth and the rapidly growing welfare class including millions of illegals. For those who love this nation the Special Forces are the Dallas Cowboys of warriors, loved far and wide. Now we have the Cluster F that's given the Chinese not only the information on all federal employees but information from their security questionnaires . That's what they admit is gone, the real story is almost certainly much worse. We put it on a warm plate and left the door open. Meanwhile back at the NYT those loyal to the administration are concerned , What we need is a diversion, let's push the Seal story.
Seen a pretty nasty post on Instagram from Tag Gear (@tag_gear) and reposted by Mark Owen (@markowenSEAL) that Brandon Webb was a source for the NYT article... Haven't searched SOFREP to see if there's any similar comments here... Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
