SGT Dan Recon6 not good either way,, but sounds Better than what I was hearing,,,, I simply cringe anytime I hear of these 'closures' or 'downsizing' etc.... Thanks for the more accurate report....6
Recon6 Not targeted for a closure of the post, but worst case scenario is we lose another brigade combat team. That will take the 101st down to two brigades plus the aviation brigade. We've already lost 4th Brigade (mostly used to make the other three brigades larger, closer to their 2003 strengths) and are losing the 159th Aviation Brigade, one of the two aviation outfits we need to do a brigade-size air assault.
YankeePapa Recon6 why not YP, seems we are giving away everything else...6
Recon6 , . ...Maybe we can outsource our national security to the Chinese. . -YP-
Great Intell and much appreciated!! Recently drove through KY and was horrified at talk that Fort Campbell, KY (home of the 101st Airborne for the uninitiated) is being considered for closure?? The so called destruction of our Military, or force reduction as it is called by certain left leaning assholes... I'm aware this is O/T, however, anyone 'Airborne' will feel a sharp pain in the chest at the loss of such an Awesome military presence... or is it just me.....6
