Did not fund it…first to use it…sweet deal!
Hopefully, the Israeli’s can do to the F-35 what they did to the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. I don’t think they would have used it in combat if they thought it wouldn’t be effective. The problem with this airplane is that it’s trying to be everything in terms of its mission capability. It sounds like they have found a good niche for it. We still need an F-22 replacement for air superiority.
I would be perfectly happy to be proven wrong, in my current opinion of the F-35. It is still pork barrel expensive city, but if it lives up to its claims . . . well, color me chagrined and somewhat relieved. But like you say, time will tell.
