Their actions are totally rational, if you understand that they are a subversive orginization, their founder Roger Baldwin, being an overt communist, set up the orginization specifically to undermine, and otherthrow the United States. He called it the American Civil Liberties Union, because that sounded more patriotic an acceptable to the public.
The ACLU, is not a civil rights group. It’s a subversive orginization.
A former friend is a perfect example of how bad civilian understanding of classified and restricted material. Last spring when she was all google eyed over her latest Tinder Boyfriend, she let slip that he’s an Army Vet who was shh involved in Blackhawk down, but it’s just too painful for him to discuss. Then he proceeded to publically brag and text the names and locations of classified military bases in and near Somalia, while I looked on in stunned silence and horror. I tried explaining several times in multiple ways how what he was doing was wrong, potentially criminal and dangerous because the locations are classified for a reason and what classified means. The former friend had no clue and basically said we have a right to know everything at all times and everyone else present, including 2 Veterans backed her up. It makes me wonder if we’ve been too safe for far too long from the reality and horrors of war here at home and just what it will really take to wake people up and educate them on realities that will keep us alive and well
To be fair I think this is not just an ACLU issue but a society issue in regards to the meaning of classified and operational security. Plus there seems to be a growth in armchair generals (though it may be the Internet gives them an audience they didn’t have before so we see them more). I look at the history of WWII and now and there seems a very big sea change in how we view operational security/classified information information and I think there was less of a tendency of groups like the ACLU deciding they knew better than the pros.
Also I’m struggling to see why they feel they should be doing this (other than getting back at Trump).
You ladies are spot on. This is, ultimately, an attack on Trump’s competence. Do folks on the far left really have concern over death in the spec ops community? Since 2014, spec ops personnel have died. This is just another thing to stir up dissent amongst the American people.
