Some of our operations in recent years have taken away time and training to conduct very specialized deployments. 160 used to be very good in jungle/tropical operations, because of the base in Panama. And Scofield Barracks in HI is just isn't big enough area to conduct a bigger operation. Then the 160 hasn't done a extended maritime operation since Prime Chance, and there are plenty of opportunities to conduct such {Think Captain Roberts/Mersk Alabama}. So it feel like they are still in the training for the current threat instead of training for the next threat. Maybe conventional forces shouldn't be tasking 160 for a lot of missions.
