Reminds me of the shortage in people going into skilled trades. No one wants to do this kind of work anymore because they think it is beneath them so they divert away from skilled trades and in this case skilled trades in the military.
Well, there is a spin to this that might not be inaccurate, and that is that it's going to be difficult to get people to enlist while there is a booming job economy in the civilian sector. IDK - I keep coming back to that the easiest way to fix the most problems is to realize that the US military across the board was never set up to be an occupying force internationally (I.e. the British Empire). End the never ending wars and global operations daily, and a lot of things will reset to a normal.
