Yeah, guessing it is because that 101 is bombproof, and has good battery life. That is good to know. Maybe I will root around, see if I can find mine and bring it back online. I always liked the “find home” bread crumb feature if I got wild in the woods and was turned around.
The photo is US SOF recent one too, the Garmin has not changed since! I have one from the last year looks the same haha
Jamie, thanks for the update. Question though about your lead in photo. Do you have any information on it? Reason I ask, is it looks like a Garmin 101 is on the right wrist of the operator. That is about 2001 vintage, and it looks identical to one I had from that time frame.
