I saw a comment that sorta half defended USA today by claiming you could indeed buy a (novelty) mini-chainsaw attachment for your AR-15 or like-minded rifle. My reply was that a bad guy can attach a chainsaw to a pipe bomb too, but that doesn’t make it any more useful, relevent, or pertinent to the conversation regarding that either.
I did get a good laugh at the sarcastic responses though. My favorite response was a graphic of the USS Kitty Hawk taking up the entire top rail of the AR-15 as a possible attachment.
Amen. Their constant reliance on social media as a research tool alone is enough to disqualify most of those people as “journalistsâ€.
The sad part, the company that makes such a useless piece of crap will now sell more of these things than they ever would have imagined…
As for the media. We all know that these folks don’t usually know anything about the subjects that they report on, and fact checking/talking to knowledgeable people just isn’t done these days. Add to that the political nature of such a subject, it isn’t surprising.
