The Regimental Military Intelligence Battalion’s (RMIB) mission is to recruit, train, develop, and employ highly trained and specialized Rangers to conduct full-spectrum intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, cyber, and electronic warfare operations in order to enhance the Regimental Commander’s situational awareness and inform his decision-making process.

Spot on. It’s also a move by the Regiment to increase its independence.
Well… if they are going to add “tail†better it be with Intelligence that can drive operations. I think it’s better than having just a Company. Their role has grown so they need more enablers.
The Ranger Regiment is all tooth. Are they growing a big tail?
