In the days since the horrific shooting at a Parkland, Florida high school, much blame has been laid on guns, mental health issues and many other things. People need to make sense of a tragedy. But as more facts began to emerge about the identity of the shooter, it became clear that many mistakes were made before any shots were fired– particularly by the FBI.
The bureau revealed this week that a month before Nicholas Cruz slaughtered 17 people at his former school, a person “close to” him called the FBI’s tipline and reported that the 19-year-old had a “desire to kill people” and there was “potential of him conducting a school shooting.” The FBI also revealed if failed to pass the info on to its Miami field office.
Many wonder if the nation’s leading law enforcement agency has become too involved with politics in recent months –and what else they might be missing?
