BREAKING: Hawaii received false alarm of incoming ballistic missile threat

Hawaii woke Saturday morning to text message alerts of an incoming ballistic missile threat. Recipients were told to seek shelter immediately.

Word began to spread quickly across the islands as the phone systems were overwhelmed and locals took to Facebook to check the veracity of the alert.  An agonizing 38 minutes later, Hawaii news outlets began to report that the alert was a false alarm.  As of yet, no follow-up texts have been issued informing recipients of the mistake, begging the question as to who pushed the alert out in the first place. USAF veteran Diane Kelsey, who lives and works on Oahu, said “It is interesting though, what a situation like that makes you think and feel. I actually hung up the phone so I could pray and write letters to my loved ones.”

Another veteran source on island said, “One thing is certain, we won’t need a colon cleanse any time soon.”

No sirens were heard; no other types of alarm systems have been reported to have been activated at this time.
